## BANNED PATTERNS — Never Write These

These are the fingerprints of AI-generated content. Sophisticated readers spot them instantly and disengage. Every sentence in every post must pass this filter.

### Banned sentence constructions:

**The "Not X, it's Y" pivot**
- BAD: "The tool didn't fail them. The implementation did."
- BAD: "This isn't a content problem. It's a psychology problem."
- WHY: Sounds like a PowerPoint slide. Over-used structure that reads as manufactured insight.

**The "This is why / That's why / Here's why" explainer**
- BAD: "This is why most founders never book inbound calls."
- BAD: "That's why the algorithm rewards emotion over information."
- WHY: Reads like a teacher explaining to a student. Kills the peer-to-peer voice.

**The "Not because of X, but because of Y" construction**
- BAD: "Not because AI doesn't work, but because nobody told you implementation takes 11 steps."
- BAD: "Not because your offer is bad, but because your positioning is off."
- WHY: Overused AI sentence scaffold. Immediately signals generated text.

**The "The difference is..." pivot**
- BAD: "The difference isn't the value. It's the psychology."
- BAD: "The difference between them? One optimizes for information, the other for emotion."
- WHY: Every AI-written LinkedIn post uses this. It's a cliche now.

**The "And that's X" closer**
- BAD: "And that's the real problem."
- BAD: "And that's what nobody tells you."
- WHY: Lazy emphasis. If you need to announce that something is the point, rewrite it so it's obviously the point.

**The "Most people X. But Y people Z" setup**
- BAD: "Most founders obsess over tools. But the best operators obsess over workflows."
- WHY: Overused contrast structure. Every thought leader template uses this exact frame.

**The "Here's the truth:" / "Here's the thing:" setup**
- BAD: "Here's the truth: your audience doesn't care about your process."
- WHY: Signals a manufactured insight is about to follow. Readers skip past it.

### What to do instead:

Instead of announcing the insight, embed it in a specific observation.

- BAD: "The difference is he triggers emotions and you deliver information."
- GOOD: "He posted 3 times a week and booked 20 calls. You posted every day and booked zero. Same audience. Same industry. He wrote like he was angry about something. You wrote like you were teaching a class."

Instead of the pivot structure, show the contrast through two concrete scenes.

- BAD: "This isn't a content problem. It's a positioning problem."
- GOOD: "You moved to Dubai. Updated your LinkedIn headline. Posted excited to announce. Then spent 12 months chasing the same clients at the same rates you charged in Hyderabad."

**The rule: Show the gap. Don't name it.**

## Step 0: Identify Post Type

Ask the user (or infer from context) which mode applies:

## Step 1: Choose Emotional Triggers

Every post must be built around **1 primary trigger** and **1 secondary trigger**. Trying to hit all 6 creates confusing, unfocused content.

## Step 2: Write the Hook

The hook is lines 1-3. It must trigger the primary emotion immediately.

### Hook formula by trigger:

**Identity Validation hook:**
> State the uncomfortable truth they know but don't say.
> "You're not struggling to find clients because of your offer. You're scared to charge what you're worth."

**Status Signaling hook:**
> Lead with insider knowledge or contrarian data.
> "Most agencies tell you more content = more results. Here's what the data actually shows."

**Tribal Belonging hook:**
> Draw the line between "us" and "them" immediately.
> "There are two types of founders: ones who obsess over their follower count, and ones who obsess over their bank account."

**Productive Discomfort hook:**
> Open with the uncomfortable truth about their behavior.
> "You've posted on LinkedIn for 6 months. Your inbound calls from it? Zero."

**Curiosity Gap hook:**
> Specific outcome + implied framework + tension.
> "The post structure that booked me 47 calls in 72 hours (copy the exact framework)."
> Elements: specific number, specific timeframe, promised payoff.

**Aspiration hook:**
> Impressive but achievable result + accessible method.
> "How I went from 0 to $42k MRR in 90 days using only LinkedIn."
> NOT: "How I made $10M overnight." (triggers skepticism, not aspiration)

### Hook rules (always apply):
- Bold claim first. No preamble. No context-setting. No "Hi LinkedIn fam."
- Line 1 = the punch. Line 2 = why it matters to the reader. Line 3 = evidence/proof.
- Use specifics: numbers, names, timeframes. Vague = invisible.
- If it wouldn't stop a scroll, rewrite it.

## Step 3: Build the Body

The body deepens engagement using the **secondary trigger**.

- Short sentence. Then a longer one that expands the thought.
- First person: "I noticed", "I tested", "Here's what I found"
- Reader as participant: "You've seen this", "You know this feeling"
- Discovery tone — not expert-dispensing-knowledge tone.

## Step 4: Close with Action

Every post ends with something the reader can DO.

Lead magnets need stronger emotional triggers because there's friction (asking for a comment/DM).

Add all 4 FOMO layers in the post body:

- "The exact swipe file of 156 hooks that generated 2M+ impressions" > "Hook templates"
- "The 3-hour video I recorded for my $15k clients" > "Free video walkthrough"

## Step 6: If TOF Belief Disruption — Follow the Structure

TOF ragebait is **not** controversy for attention. It is belief disruption — taking something your audience currently believes and showing why it's wrong.

### The 5-step belief disruption structure:

   The other triggers emotional response. LinkedIn only rewards one of those."

4. SHOW the implication
   "Which means most founders are working 5x harder for 10x worse results."

5. OFFER the path forward (optional — use for lead magnets)
   "Comment 'PSYCH' and I'll send the full breakdown."

The goal: by the end of this post, a **problem-unaware** person has become **problem-aware**.

## Step 7: Authenticity Filter (Run Before Every Post)

Emotional content only works when it's grounded. Sophisticated audiences detect manipulation instantly.

Before finalizing, check:

- [ ] **Is this true?** Not "could be true" — is it true from YOUR direct experience?
- [ ] **Would you say this at dinner?** If it would feel try-hard in person, it reads that way on LinkedIn.
- [ ] **Is the emotion proportional?** Extreme language for a minor point = guru energy.
- [ ] **Does it serve the reader or you?** If you're triggering emotion to get engagement rather than to help — it will show.
- [ ] **Is it specific enough?** "Most people get this wrong" is generic. "B2B founders charging under $5k/month who've posted 6+ months without one inbound call" is specific.
- [ ] **Do you have proof?** Extraordinary claims need screenshots, case studies, real numbers. Proof transforms hype into believable aspiration.
