Description

Hunter finds email addresses for a company domain or a named person and checks whether an address is likely to deliver. It also has company and person enrichment and a discovery endpoint for finding companies.

In an agent or workflow it fits lead research and list hygiene: look up contacts for a target domain, verify before sending, and store the result in your CRM.

A free plan with 50 credits a month exists and a free API key is available, with limits on some calls. Paid plans start at $49/mo for 2,000 credits. Best for small to mid-size outreach teams.

Cost: free plan has 50 credits a month. Starter is $49/mo, Growth $149/mo, Scale $299/mo (monthly billing). Credits reset monthly and do not roll over. An email found costs 1 credit and a verification costs 0.5 credit.

Credentials and data: one API key. Store it in an environment variable or secret manager, not in code or a plain-text file. The domains and names you query are sent to Hunter. You receive personal email addresses of named people, so GDPR and similar consent and lawful-basis rules apply before you send them mail.

Good to know: the pricing page FAQ says credits are counted the same way in the web app and the API, and the API row in the plan table is shown with icons only, so we could not read per-plan API limits. The docs say Free users get a key but with limits (for example, Domain Search limit plus offset cannot exceed 10). The API-only Data Platform is a separate bulk-credit option: on its page we saw 1,000 search credits for $50 and 1,000 verification credits for $11, valid for 12 months. A test-api-key returns dummy data.
